Fred Rogers encourages us to Look for the Helpers; but how can educators continue to remain hopeful when they are the helpers? Consider PBS KIDS a source of support for teachers empowering children as future helpers. Mr. Rogers’ beloved puppet, Daniel Tiger, and his corresponding multimedia collection are full of hopeful strategies and resources to integrate empathy and kindness toward ourselves and others while promoting a safe, positive community of learners.

 Although hip-hop has become an undeniable force in society, some educators may not have the background or comfort level to integrate it into their classrooms. Using PBS content as a guide, this session will help educators learn more about hip-hop music and culture, including its connection to U.S. history and social justice. Educators will also be introduced to free, standards-aligned resources to use with students, integrating material across grade bands and content areas.

 Learning about the outdoor spaces around us can happen across all seasons, whatever the weather, with educational media from PBS Wisconsin. Join us as we explore stories, lesson plans, and activities for early learners through high school to expand ideas about how we interact with our environment.
